In the unlikely event that anyone reading this is in Santa Clara and doesn't already know that Noelani Sallings is running for the Santa Clara Unified School District Board of Education...now you do. Noelani is the sort of candidate that I would support even if she wasn't a friend -- although I agree with her politics (and am also pleased to see a younger, more "alternative" for lack of a less cheesy word, perspective brought to the table), the important thing to me is that it is all about the kids for her. Over the past 5 years she's put a great deal of her time, hard work, and money where her mouth is working with her daughter's school, and I'm sure she'll bring the same commitment to the school board. |
